Poverty and education are inextricably linked, as school fees may prevent parents from sending their children to school, or girls dropping out of school once they reach menarche because they lack menstrual products or safe places to change their pads or cloths. Victor Odhiambo founded the Garden of Hope Foundation to address the issue of poverty amongst marginalized populations, specifically targeting youth so they would have opportunities to succeed. They just celebrated their 5th year anniversary, and continue to transform the lives of young people in Kenya.
