Community Workshops

In support of the UN Youth Climate Summit, Belinda organized an official Climate Week NYC event for the NYC community on solutions to food waste in partnership with experts in the food industry: First Principle Group, First Line, Food for All, GrowNYC, Misfits Market, ReFED, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Toast Ale, White Moustache Yogurt.

She also designs and conducts custom in-person and virtual trainings for intergenerational clients of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Webinars

Belinda hosts free or donation-based webinars for the community on sustainability, low impact living, and other environmental issues in partnership with other individuals in the sustainability field, where proceeds from each workshop go to a nonprofit organization selected by the guest speaker(s) or webinar participants. Former guest speakers have included individuals from Sims Municipal Recycling, Astoria Pug, and the NYU Green Office Committee.

She has also been invited as a guest panelist for other webinars and events with UNICEF, Center for Biological Diversity, and public schools, and participated on podcasts to speak about meaningful youth engagement, public health, and sustainability.

Large-Scale Events

A dedicated space in the heart of the fueling station at the world’s largest conference for gender equality, Belinda and her colleague co-led the ideation and execution of three days and 14 sessions of youth-forward programming. Sessions included speed networking, creative tensions (dialogue exploring advocates’ challenges advancing gender equality and the SRHR movement with a focus on LGBTQIA+ communities), meditation and self-care, solutions workshop to address real-world problems, and storytelling, among others.

Programs

Belinda carried out an NGO’s first-ever digital posters session that invited advocates and researchers to showcase their solutions and initiatives to advance gender equality in their communities and countries. With nearly 500 applicants representing all corners of the globe, she convened a diverse selection committee consisting of UN agencies, NGOs, youth-serving organizations, incubators, institutions, among other representatives to select 150 finalists (42% youth and 67% representing the Global South).
