2024 Climate Literacy Guide Now Available

As of this Tuesday morning, September 24, 2024, the US Global Change Research Program published the 3rd edition of the Climate Literacy Guide! Last updated in 2009, 24 organizations (many of them federal agencies) and 60+ individuals collaborated to revamp this guide.

What are some key updates from the last guide?
⭐️ The Guiding Principle that people can take climate action is now broken down into four different categories: climate justice and equity, adaptation, resilience, and hope and urgency
⭐️ Intentional shift in verbiage from defining a climate literate person as one who can communicate accurately and *effectively* (shift from meaningfully due to a desire for actionable steps)

There is an open invitation to continue adding to the literature to support scientists make updated recommendations to climate actions we can take.
